With the end of year fast approaching I have been reflecting on my journey with AIDA to date. Since joining the AIDA family I have had the honour of being involved with the Coalition of the Peaks, the National Health Leadership Forum and the Closing the Gap Steering Committee. At the organisational level I have had the pleasure of getting to know the secretariat, the current and new board members, and more recently spending time getting to know you, the members at AIDA 2019, LIME and at our Canberra member event were I was able to meet several members who were unable to travel to our Conference this year.
Highlights to date I have been hearing our member stories and journeys, the presentation to and recognition of 28 new graduates, 3 new fellows and the amazing AIDA award winners for 2019. I have been inspired by work of members the enthusiasm and passion there is for AIDA the important work that we do.
In 2020, members will continue to be our priority, I am especially looking forward to working with our Student Representative Council and the exciting projects they are working on as a council and in collaboration with the Australian Medical Student Association.
In closing I would like to thank the AIDA membership for their warm welcome to this amazing family and to wish you all a very safe, happy and restful Christmas and festive season. I am looking forward to spending time with my family and hope you all enjoy time with your family and friends. See you all in 2020!
