#KeepOurMobSafe – Jo Kaczmarek

As coronavirus continues to spread it is important to #KeepOurMobSafe and make sure we practice social distancing.JCU medical student Jo Kaczmarek and her mum Annie have an important message to share in Creole and Kalaw Lagaw Ya language.We can practice social distancing by:- Staying at home and only go out if it is absolutely essential- Keeping 1.5 metres away from others- Avoid travelling between communities to stop sickness from spreading- Washing your hands, especially after being out in public places- Keeping your hands clean and try not to touch your face- Stay up to date with the latest information via health.gov.au, visit niaa.gov.au or call the Coronavirus Helpline at 1800 020 080

#KeepOurMobSafe – Jo Kaczmarek

Dr Aleeta Fejo is a proud Larrakia and Warramungu GP operating in the Northern Territory. Dr Fejo shares an important message to make sure we continue to practice self-care and wellbeing in order to #KeepOurMobSafe. We must continue to look after our health both mental, physical and spiritual. You can do this by:- Eating well- Keeping active- Having a good night’s rest- Meditation- Staying connected with family, friends and community over the phone or online-Doing things, you enjoy, like art, dance or listening to musicTogether we can keep our mob safe and stop the spread.

Dr Aleeta Fejo
An important message from Dr Emma Adams on taking care of our elders #keepourmobsafe

Dr Emma Adams is an Aboriginal doctor and psychiatrist with an important message to help #keepourmobsafe during the coronavirus outbreak. It is important to ensure that we stay connected with Elders whilst social distancing. We can do this by: – Helping and encouraging Elders, Aunties and Uncles to use technology to continue to yarn regularly- Cook meals and leave it at the front door- Offer to run errands for them like getting groceries or medicines- Drop a note in their mailbox or yarn over the fence- We all need to protect our Elders and community and stop the spread. Dr Ngaree Blow is a proud Yorta Yorta, Goreng Goreng and Noonuccal public health registrar working on Wurundjeri Country. Ngaree shares an important message on keeping good hygiene to help protect yourself from COVID-19. We know that coronavirus spreads when tiny drops from coughs and sneezes land on surfaces that we tough.To help #KeepOurMobSafe we can reduce the risk by:Coughing or sneezing into your elbow or tissue which you must put in a bin straight awayKeep your hands clean by washing your hands regularlyKeeping surfaces cleanWhen we can use antibacterial spray or disinfectant to remove germs By continuing to practice good hygiene we can continue to protect our mob and community safe.
