AIDA Board Values
- "We are present here for family, community and country"
- We agree that we are equal members of this Board and we undertake to respect each other as such.
- We undertake to support and encourage each other and to care for each other's health and well-being.
- We undertake to actively participate in meetings, but we will not allow one person to dominate discussions.
- We undertake to make decisions that are culturally appropriate, responsible and promote the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- We undertake to act on decisions that we make, even if we did not agree with them, and we agree to keep confidential our discussions whilst making these decisions.
- We recognise the diversity of our experience, expertise, opinions and engagement with communities and we agree to respect and welcome this.
- Where difficult or contentious decisions must be made, we agree to use our "step by step" decision-making process to make that decision.
- We will declare all involvements or interests that may be either perceived or actual conflicts and stand aside, as necessary, from decision making on these matters.
- We undertake to prepare and study our papers before each meeting. In return, we expect at least 14 days notice of meetings and we expect to receive supporting papers at least 7 days before the meeting.
- We will honestly and regularly monitor how well we are following these values.
